Thank you for your interest in our cause: protecting Guajome Park and its surrounding communities! We need your help in guarding this beautiful rural area from a high-density development that will permanently devastate this peaceful Oceanside community.
Please use this website to learn more about this ill-conceived project by reviewing the Project Overview and Community Concerns tab. This home page will be used to provide the latest updates and happenings as they become available.
November 2025 update:
Our appeal hearing date has been scheduled. Mark you calendars! It will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, 6:00 at Oceanside City Hall.
The Planning Commission reversed their August decision at the October 13th meeting, certified the EIR and approved the project. Their former concerns seemed to fly out the window. Most of them disclosed (albeit reluctantly) that they had met with the developer- business as usual for our Planning Commi$$ion.
October 2025 Update:
The project will go back to the Planning Commission for another vote on Monday October 13th. We need as many people to attend as possible. They may open the hearing up to the public, so please be ready to speak and remind the commission why they denied the Environmental Impact Report for this terrible project.
Time and location: 6:00pm at City Hall Council Chambers, 300 N. Coast Highway.
August 2025 Update:
At the 8/11 meeting, the Planning Commission voted 4-2 to DENY the Environmental Impact Report. There will be another vote (TBD) to adopt the resolution to deny the EIR (basically confirming the decision). The developer may appeal. Stay tuned!
Important Update: The project will be considered by the Planning Commission on Monday August 11th (postponed from July 28th). We need as many community members as possible to attend, hold up signs, and speak to the commission. This is our chance to voice our concerns about the impacts to this beautiful natural area. Sign the petition and/or email guardguajome@yahoo.com for more information. Please be a voice for nature and join us!
