Equestrian Zoning waiver

The project waives the Equestrian Zoning standards that define this unique horse-friendly residential area.  All neighborhoods northeast of Guajome Lake Road are in a designated EQ Equestrian Overlay District.  This zoning overlay district was established to "protect the equestrian and rural atmosphere" of the area.  This is the only part of Oceanside with this unique zoning and one of few areas remaining in the County. This waiver was granted without any justification and will jeopardize the safety of all residents and visitors from all over the region who use Guajome Park for equestrian activities.
