Several health and safety issues concern our community. This includes all residents, their horses and our precious sensitive wildlife.
The traffic congestion from 800+ additional daily vehicle trips poses a significant safety risk in the event of a wildfire. There is only one evacuation route available!
The additional hundreds of vehicle trips over a dirt road will result in a significant and unhealthy quantity of dust in the air. This will harm all of the nearby residents, their horses, our wildlife, as well all of the many visitors to Guajome Park [get video!]
The project includes no safety measures for pedestrians or horses to facilitate crossing Guajome Lake Road. This is an equestrian community with multiple horse crossing signs.
This narrow road with multiple blind turns is not equipped to handle the project traffic volume. Accidents are likely to significantly increase.
